Research into Music Genres: Rock

Definition of Rock Music:

1) A form of popular music that evolved from rock and roll and pop music during the mid- and late 1960s.

2) A genre of popular music, including black rhythm and blues. Rock is a generic term for the range of styles throughout Rock 'n' Roll music.

Rock Music

The Rock Genre developed during and after the 1960s, mainly in the United States before entering the United Kingdom. Rock music is heavily influenced by rhythm and blues. Typical instruments found in Rock music are electric guitar, bass guitar, drums.

Pros and Cons of Rock Music:

Pros:
- They are dated back to the 1990s and still played to this very day.
- Relatable to people of all ages.
- Inspirational
Cons:
- Some rock songs have dirty lyrics (e.g. "Suck my kiss").
 
- Some people refer to Rock music as 'the devil's music'.
