Research into Music Genres: Hip Hop/Rap Music

Definition of Hip Hop/Rap Music:
1) A popular urban youth culture, associated with rap music.

2) Musical genre of a stylized rhythic music, commonly accompanies rapping with a rhythmic/rhyming speech which is chanted.


Hip Hop/Rap Music


Hip Hop/Rap Music consists of stylised rhythmic music that accompanies rapping. It developed as part of Hip Hop Culture. Rapping, DJing/scratching can be found amongst many Hip Hop/Rap songs. Typical instruments found in Hip Hop/Rap Music are: Drums, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Beatboxing, Drum Machine and a Turntable.
