Research and Planning: Idea 3 Main Concept

The video begins with a Birdseye view of a city at night (it is shot in black and white). Amy appears in crowds of people beginning far from the camera at first and with each shot she gets closer to the camera, throughout these shots Amy looks out of place by both the way she dresses and her facial expression. The camera then go to a close up that becomes more and more extreme, it is apparent that Amy is crying the music briefly stops and then she wipes away he tear and the camera (still fixed) zooms out from her face to reveal that she is no longer in the city but in a picturesque scene, the shot then changes to following a car at night the it is seen that there are two people in the car, it then moves back to Amy in search of something. Then back to the car, where the passenger at the back of the car is a young girl, as the car continues she notices that the different men standing in prominent places along the road, the shot changes to Amy in front of one of the four elements (earth, air, fire and water) then the same mise-en-scene is seen but with one of the band members in Amy’s place. This continues as if they are following Amy.

You then see Amy and then band members coming together to form a circle with the band allowing Amy to be in the center as if she is the fifth element. The girl is then driven to them the car door is opened for her and she stands watching them as white rose petals fall from the sky and fall only where Amy and the band are then Amy gestures the girl to come towards her, as she moves closer the band members fade away so that only Amy and the girl are left. The girl then touches Amy’s stomach and there’s a pause and they are surrounded in rose petals. The girl then picks up the petals and when she looks again Amy is gone, the girl runs back to the car and the door is closed, the girl gets in and looks out of the window it is then shown that the driver is Amy.
